What Readers are saying
A romance is only a very small part of this book. As someone who lived near Steubenville during the years depicted and lives there now; reading this book was like taking a step back in time. I would recommend this book to both the male and female population of the tri-state area. The details of steel making, local sports, local businesses and social activities will be of interest to many. I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend this book.

This is an excellent book and a real tear jerker. I really like historical novels, and learned a lot about the Ohio Valley. I grew up in Buffalo around the same time, and had similar experiences with the closure of the massive Bethlehem Steel plant.

It is a very interesting read especially for those of us who grew up in the valley and attended Steubenville Catholic Central High School. I graduated from there in 1965 along with Jerry’s older brother Pat. I enjoyed seeing the references and pictures which made me reflect on that time in my life which formed a foundation for what lay ahead. Jerry captures the sprit of the valley in his fictional story of a love affair with twists and turns. I found it difficult at time separating the fiction from the non fiction.

Excellent ReadDr. Charley
Having grownup in Mingo Jct.Oh in the 50s, I was able to relate to everything in this book. I particularly enjoyed the pictures, before and after. The explanation of how the steel was manufactured was Very interesting. His style of writing was enjoyable. The storyline kept me interested in the outcome of the plot.I still have family there, and visit twice a year. I ALWAYS told my husband “ there is nothing like growing up in a small town” I have forgotten how the” post office”game goes.I remember “spin the bottle” well. 😉

Like the author, I too grew up in the Ohio valley. Right in Steubenville, on LaBelle. Pronounced “lay bell”. Though I’m a bit younger I went to St Anthony’s and to CCHS. So many of the places described were part of my upbringing. I,too, left after finishing nursing and anesthesia school. Great place to grow up!
